Geschafft! /Finished!

Die Socken für meinen Papa sind gestern Abend beim Fußballspiel Österreich-Polen fertig geworden!
Und dann wurde ich noch übermütig und habe ein Minisöckchen aus der Wolle für ihn gestrickt.
Nun sind die Lieblingsnadeln, die Knitpicks Harmonywood, wieder frei für neue musterlastige Socken frei! Juhuuuuh!

Gr. 43
Schaft: 72 Maschen, 100 Runden
Fuß: 68 Maschen

I finished the socks for my Dad
while watching the football-match Austria vs. Poland "yesternight".
And I am happy about it, in fact I was so happy that I even knit a little Mini-sock for him!

Now I can use my favorite needles, the Knitpicks Harmonywood,
for some other socks with a great pattern! Wooohooo!

Neeee, oder????

Mensch, was war denn das für ein Spiel?

Ganz oft hab ich mich in der 1. Halbzeit echt gefragt:

"Warum sind die Jungs so verunsichert und orientierungslos?"

Die 2. Halbzeit war ein bisschen besser, wohl auch durch das Tor....

so haben wir nicht gänzlich das Gesicht verloren.


SCHADE! Wir sind fassungslos und traurig!


Aber:

Nach dem Spiel ist ja bekanntlich vor dem Spiel

und so hoffen wir hier auf das Spiel gegen Österreich am Montag!

Wir sind gerüstet:

Auf geht's, Jungs! Macht uns stolz!!!

Ein Mann...

... hätte in unserem Weiberhaushalt wahrscheinlich seine wahre Freude, denn wir gucken EM!!!


Wie gerne würde einerseits ich zu dieser Zeit den Satz hören:
"Schatz, holst Du mir mal ein Bier?" (und ich würde es sogar holen, ja! ausnahmsweise *fiesgrins*)
Oder: "Toooooooooooor!" Oder: "Faaaaauuuullll!"

Weil's aber nicht ist, schreie und/oder jubele ich halt selber! Und die Mädels gleich mit!

Und das ist andererseits auch gut!

Den Mädels habe ich versprochen, daß wir zum Public Viewing gehen, sollte unsere Elf ins Halbfinale oder sogar Finale kommen.
Also Jungs, strengt Euch mächtig an, ich will das Versprechen nämlich einhalten müssen!

(Schade nur, daß mein absolutes Lieblingsmatch England vs. Deutschland dieses Mal nicht drin ist!)

We are watching the European Football/Soccer Championship!
So I was thinking, that a guy would really have a ball at our house these days!
And because we haven't got a man, who screams: "Goooooooaaaaaaal" or "Foooouuuuullll",
my girls and I just do that!

I promised the girls that we will go to the "Public Viewing",
if Germany reaches the finales of the championship,
so the boys of the German team will really have to fight,
because I want to make this promise come true.
Go for it, boys!

(Unfortunately my favorite match England vs. Germany will not be possible this time!)

Disziplin und Durchhaltevermögen....

....brauche ich dringend, um die Socken für meinen geliebten Dad fertigzubekommen.

Leider sind die Teile soooooooooooooo langweilig, in Größe 43 und die Farbe gefällt mir plötzlich auch nicht mehr.

Aber leider habe ich neulich nacht von meinem Vater geträumt, wie er mir sagte:
"Bitte mach meine Socken fertig, ich warte schon darauf!"

Ich bin mit Herzklopfen und total schlechtem Gewissen aufgewacht,
weil die Socken nun schon seit dem 10. März auf den Nadeln auf ihre Fertigstellung warten.

Oh wei, ich brauch Euch, um mich anzufeuern und viele positive Gedanken!

Good for me, that Lana Grossa wool comes in 50 gram skeins.

So i could do this to avoid second sock syndrome (sss):
I knit the first sock until after the heel-turn, put them on other needles and started the second sock....then I just finished the second sock and then I returned to sock no 1 and finished that.

Gracious Socks Pattern Review

I just wanted to share my thoughts about this pattern:

Gracious Socks

I purchased the pattern from the designer Terry L. Ross,

because I fell in love with it at first sight.

And I wasn't dissapointed!


Not only Terry provides a great chart as well as the written pattern,
she has also great instructions for the Toe-up construction.

The pattern is well written and very clear, easy to understand.

I have had lots of fun knitting the socks and am very happy about the great pattern.

I loved the clear instructions Terry gave for the gusset and the heel,
it was wonderful to knit this pattern
....
in fact I sailed right through them had a great knitting time!!

I must admit this:

Although I have already knitted quite a few toe-up-socks with a similar heel-construction (such as Widdershins and Beaudelaire) I never really knew what I was doing I was just following the instructions.

But with this pattern I finally "grasped" what I was doing and I am so happy about that!

And I am loving the socks that I have made, they fit perfectly....

My big thanks goes to Terry for providing this great pattern
and the super-duper-instructions it has.


I loved the pattern and this will not be the last time I have knitted these fabulous socks!

A wonderful toe-up pattern with fine instructions and great advice....I am loving it so far!

I really really love the heel,
it's similar to the beaudelaire- and widdershins-heel and it fits just perfectly!!

Ich bin furchtbar stolz auf mich, daß ich nun auch so ein Schaf gestrickt habe.
Vor allem über das Gesicht bin ich sehr glücklich, da ich im Nähen und Sticken eine absolute Niete bin. Aber es ist mir gut gelungen, meine Älteste glücklich zu machen.

Meine anderen Beiden haben natürlich auch schon ein Schaf bestellt *grins*,
aber ich muss noch Material dafür besorgen......
