Mincepies are an English tradition (see wikipedia for more info)
and always served in the Christmas season
(although my dad loves them so much, that my Mum bakes them all year,
even in summer *giggle*).

My parents baked them and we had a good share of them today...*lol*
We have been over at their place today and had a nice time.
My parents loved their presents and I loved mine and the kids loved theirs,
so we are all happy campers now!


Mincepies sind eine Englische Köstlichkeit und werden immer an Weihnachten serviert.
(mein Dad aber liebt die Teile so sehr, daß meine Ma sie sogar im Sommer für ihn bäckt *gg)

Es sind "Teigtaschen" in Form von kleinen Törtchen, gefüllt mit Mincemeat (nicht zu verwechseln mit minced meat, das ist Hackfleisch). Mincemeat ist eine Mixtur aus getrockneten Früchten (Apfel, Zitronat, Orangeat, Nüsse und Rosinen), feinen Bränden und Gewürzen.

Sie sind superlecker, aber für "nicht-englische" Gaumen etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig.
Meine Eltern haben eine ganze Menge davon gebacken
und wir durften heute kräftig zulangen *lach*

Wir waren nämlich heute bei meinen Eltern und hatten eine schöne Zeit.
Meine Eltern fanden ihre Geschenke sehr schön und ich liebe meins und die Kinder lieben ihre Geschenke und wir sind nun alle froh!

edit 27.12.08: Auf Wunsch meiner Mutter habe ich das Foto leider verfälschen müssen!

Geweint...

...haben meine Mädels, nein nicht einfach so, sondern vor Freude....
und damit wieder einmal bewiesen, daß in der Familie Mathews nah am Wasser gebaut wurde.

Geweint, weil wir so viele liebe Päckchen bekommen haben mit so tollen Sächelchen drin.
Und was habe ich gemacht: Natürlich mitgeheult und mir ein Riesenloch in den Bauch gefreut!

Da waren Päckchen von Ricarda, Sonja, Tammina, Christiane, Annette, Catrin und Susanne.

Und da waren soooo schöne Sachen drin.
Und ich habe vergessen alles gut zu fotografieren...
aber ein paar wenige Fotos habe ich schon...muß ich aber erst raussuchen.

Aber schön war es, die Kinder haben sich so gefreut
>sie haben Schoki, Stifte, Perlen, ein Buch für Donna, ein Bastelset für Elena und eine Lillifee-Mütze mit Tatoos und Stickern für C.J., noch mehr Schoki und ein Tatoo-Center und ein Triomino-Spiel und vieles mehr bekommen<

und ich habe mich erst gefreut, ich habe nämlich einen ganzen Haufen Wolle bekommen!

Meine Kids waren sich einig, daß dieses das allerallerallerschönste Weihnachten war.
(hihihi, das sagen sie jedes Jahr!)

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween, Folks!

This year we are really having a bash. I did this:

Don't tell me you were suffering a heart-attack now....*lol*

And here are the kids just before the "Trick or Treat"-hunt:
My Elena wanted to be a witch as usual,
Donna is some Alien from the Stargate Atlantis Series
and Cynthia (as seen already) is a real "Zombie".
This kid is so great, always in for something new and scary....*biggrin*
The little pirate is a friends son, he is 3 years old.
