One moment in time ...

... the right moment in time
gave me the opportunity to "capture" one of Mother Earth's finest creations. (on camera!)

Sooo beautiful! :-D

And some of my (new) flowers ...

Just a hint ...

(you will just have to scroll down ... right now I am adding May-projects)

Just a hint - please show me some love (I love comments and feedback ... really! *g*)

*gg*)

B-day-Joy and La Sarita ...

First of all I would like to thank all my dear friends
for the B-day wishes yesterday on Ravelry and on Facebook.
You have made my day brighter and cheerier ;-)

(((BIG-MELLY-HUGGLEZ)))

Second I would like to introduce
"LA SARITA"

Pattern La Sarita by Janet Weston

:  Finished
:  September 2 2012
:  September 5 2012

 Needle and yarn
  US 6 - 4.0 mm
anabelcolori "zauberhand"
1 skeins = 437.4 yards (400.0m)

Notes:

A wonderful pattern and a great knit!
Never get's boring, because the bottom-up architecture let's you make the lacey
(and longish .... more than 400 sts to cast on) part first
and then you get to learn a "new" estonian stitch and after that you just do short rows.
The I-cord bind-off is perfect for this project :-D

Ahem ... yes ... BEADS were optional ...
so I didn't do them ( I am not quite the "beader" ...LOL)

With this project I also tried something I saw the other day in the projects of a fellow Raveler:
Folded blocking (<-- that's what I shall call it) ...
you fold your shawl in half and block it with blocking wires and pins ...
yes, you get a middle fold ....BUT the shawl turns absolutely symmetrical and it uses less blocking space ;-)

so now here I go participating in the Ravellenic Games and I am soooo excited! :-D

Es war, als hätt der Himmel
Die Erde still geküßt,
Daß sie im Blütenschimmer
Von ihm nun träumen müßt. …

It was like Heaven’s glimmer
had touched the Earth’s skin
that in Her blossoms’ shimmer
She had to think of Him. …

"Geometrical Lunatics" ;-P

... is what always comes to my mind, when reading the name of the pattern ..lol

Lunatis Geometria by Sara Louise Bygvraa

Finished
May 21 2012
May 22 2012

Needle and yarn

: 3,5 mm

1 skeins = 547.0 yards (500.2m)

: grey
: a gift from Rubanna

Notes:
Beautiful pattern, although the start from the bottom upwards is a pain ... but it gets really quick at the end (which is nice!) and it has a lovely result.

I would like to recommend to bind off using the I-cord bindoff, because a simple bindoff doesn't give a sturdy enough edging and it tends to roll in while wearing it ;-)
It needs blocking .... I know ;-)

Notes
Started out as “Orient Express”, but I changed my mind and this is going to be a “TGV” …
(yes! another one! *giggles madly*)
going to choose some other yarn for the OE … something to bring out the lace more.

Once again VERY HAPPY with the result :-D

Notes:

I loved every single moment of this knit ... the yarn, the pattern, the colours!
It is supposed to be a quick knit, but I had to be quite busy doing other things ... so this took a while.
I donated it to be bid on for a charity event and the proceeds of it  (a 35 whooping Euros ... yay!)
went to a charity called "Wünsch Dir Was"

Rocky Mountaineer

Rocky Mountaineer by Susan Ashcroft

Finished
April 26 2012
May 1 2012

knitted for WDW-Treff 2012 - winner was hundschnuffelchen

Needle and yarn
US 6 - 4.0 mm

1 skein = 459.0 yards (419.7m)

Notes
The pattern is beautiful! The shawl is gorgeous!
Wonderfully written and easy to follow!
Susan, you are a genius! ♥

The yarn was giving me a hard time…
changing from parts where it was a Sport-weight rather than fingering to parts where is was more like a lace-yarn…keeping tension was very hard because of that.
The colours of the yarn are lovely though… but I would never buy this yarn again!
