24.12.2007 - HeiligAbend

24.12.2007

Heute

kommt

Gott uns besuchen.

Er besucht uns

jenseits

von Stimmung,

weihnachtlichem Gefühl,

Festeessen und Geschenken.

Wir brauchen

um ihn zu empfangen

nur eine

sensible Stelle

im Herzen,

die offen ist

für seine Berührung,

seine Zuwendung,

sein Wort.

Heute

kommt

Gott uns besuchen,

und der Glanz dieses Abends

breitet sich aus.

(nach Almut Haneberg, in: Vom Dunkel ins Licht.)

For my Mum...

...is this X-mas present:

Soap Sweater

A little gift i made for someone I really love:

It was done within 45 minutes, a great last minute present.
And if you choose the right soap, the fragrance is just fabulous!

The pattern is from Cynthia Hall from the Pickin' and Throwin' Blog.
I have just added the cable on the upper side. Thanks Cynthia for this great pattern!

Überall schnupft, rotzt, keucht und hustet es.

Scheußlich!

Some simple stockinette socks for my Mum made of Drachenwolle with silk and ramie.
Size 37.......lovely socks.
They should have been mine, but my Mum was drooling over the started project and put on her "doggie-eyes", so i just had to give in and make 'em for her.
Who can resist a "doggie-eyed" Mum?....*lol*
She really loves them and they are on her feet already....go figure....

Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween, Folks!

This year we are really having a bash. I did this:

Don't tell me you were suffering a heart-attack now....*lol*

And here are the kids just before the "Trick or Treat"-hunt:
My Elena wanted to be a witch as usual,
Donna is some Alien from the Stargate Atlantis Series
and Cynthia (as seen already) is a real "Zombie".
This kid is so great, always in for something new and scary....*biggrin*
The little pirate is a friends son, he is 3 years old.

When your kid is....

....in hospital, somehow the clocks start working differently.
Time does not fly anymore and it seems as if you are looking at the clock every minute just to figure no time has passed.

My daughter Cynthia was submitted to the hospital yesterday evening.
She was in real awful pain and very sick.
I am worried!

Update:
They think it might be a Appendicitis.....please keep her in your thoughts.

Boyfriend-socks

And I admit it: I am a lemming....lol
After seeing such fabulous Boyfriend-Socks on German blogs, I just had to cast on some for my Dad:

Size 43, Wool: Schoeller & Stahl

These really knit up fast and they are lovely and soft!
I also chose to go cuff-down instead of toe-up....very very great socks!

3 is a magic number

Christmas-socks for my kids:
3 times Opal-Feelings with the famous Broadripple Sock-pattern
I bet you can imagine just how boring it was after 5 socks....*lol*
Here once again:

Elena's socks, size 36/37

Donna's socks, size 40

and Cynthia's socks, size 33
(which turned out slightly different, because of a knot in the yarn...argh!)

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I've had my check at the doctors last week.

Did you?

If not then I urge you to go and get it done! It doesn't take long and it can save your life.
I know, what i am talking about. 10 years ago a very close friend of mine passed away. She died of Breast Cancer and left 2 adult kids and 2 little kids and a hubby.
I still miss her, the ivy i took with me from the funeral decoration is still growing in my living room. She will never be forgotten!

*Hannelore, if you are looking down from heaven, i wish you were still here!
But then i know, that you are in a better place now, but still I MISS YOU*

So there, please go and get checked!

And look what i have found while "Googleing":

*grins*

An inbetweener /Ein Zwischendurchler

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket I made a little doily yesterday, as I would call it an "inbetweener". *grin*
Started yesterday at 2 PM and finished at 9 PM.
Today I washed and blocked it:

Flowerdoily (looks like a Daisy, doesn't it?)
crochet-cotton from L**l
Size 2,5 mm needles
for my Mum, who is in hospital right now
