Wollschaf fragt.....
Die verstrickte Dienstagsfrage - Woche 22/2006
Ich hasse Vernähen und mache das auch wirklich auf den allerletzten Drücker und kurz vorm Verschenken oder allerersten Anziehen. Wie vernäht Ihr Eure Stricksachen? Habt Ihr Tipps, um sich dies leichter zu machen? Oder seid Ihr auch so wie ich?

Leider, liebes Schäfchen, kann ich dir da gar keine Tipps geben.
Ich hasse nämlich das Vernähen auch und schiebe es immer bis zum Schluss.
Einzig die Sockenspitzen-fäden vernähe ich direkt nachdem ich den Maschenstich zum Schließen der Sockespitze fertig habe. Warum? Na wär doch blöde den Faden hängen zu lassen und wieder aus der Nadel auszufädeln, oder?

Lieber Wollfabrikant....
....irgendetwas stimmt mit Ihrer Wolle nicht. Oder ist es etwa die Druckmaschine für die Banderolen?
Sagen Sie mal, haben Sie eine amerikanische Mitarbeiterin in Ihren Reihen?
Oder wie läßt sich die Tatsache erklären, daß die meisten der Banderolen Ihrer superschönen Wollprodukte mit dem Namen "Donna" markiert sind, wie ich bei Durchsicht meiner Wollvorräte habe erkennen müssen ?
Ist das eine neue Kollektionsentwicklung? Oder wollte besagte Mitarbeiterin wohl MEINE Wolle vormarkieren und mitnehmen?

bitte bedrucken Sie Ihre Banderolen mit auffälligen Mustern und benutzen Sie bitte mit normalen Farbstiften unbeschreibbares Glanzpapier!
Die Täterin wurde als Mitglied meines Haushaltes entlarvt und leider macht es die Oberfläche der Banderolen es ihr sehr einfach weiterhin ihrer "Markierleidenschaft" zu frönen.
Für Ihre Mühen dankt im vorraus Ihre treu-ergebene Kundin

I could have written a letter similar to the one above to the developers of any yarn available, because, as I rummaged through my stash, which really has increased in size during the past year, i discovered that half of my precious and carefully tucked away (well, so i thought)yarn had been marked with a scribbled “DONNA”(probably in a rush and in fear of being caught?).
I confronted the suspected person and i was awaited with a giggle: “Those skein were all sooooo beautiful, they just wanted to be mine and really begged to be marked by me!”
Ha gotcha, my sweetie daughtie Donna…. however you are right, the wool really is beautiful ......

Aus grau mach schön...
dank den Tipps und Ermutigungen von den Mädels aus der Socken-Kreativ-Liste
hab ich es nun gewagt. Weiße Wolle hab ich ja nun schon öfter mal gefärbt gehabt
und das ging ganz gut.
Wie es mit dieser grauen Scheußlichkeit wird, da hatte ich schon meine Bedenken.
Nun hab ich eine rote und eine blaue OE-Farbtablette mit viel Essig und heißem Wasser angerührt und die gewässerte Wolle einfach nur hineingetunkt und sich vollsaugen lassen.
In der Mitte hab ich ein bisschen grau übrig gelassen......schön ist es geworden, finde ich.
Aber seht selbst die Bilder.
Einmal ein Bild mit der Wolle vorher-nachher,
ich hatte ja ein Knäuelchen beiseite gelegt für die Mäusepuschen für meine Kleine,
deswegen kann ich es so gut zeigen.
Dann ein Bild mit der angestrickten Wolle.
Ach ja, ich hab die Wolle "Blueberries and Wine" genannt, weil sie mich an Blaubeeren- und Weinflecken auf einem weißen Tischtuch (oder Bluse) erinnern.....*ggg*

Stricken ist bei mir immer Therapie! Ich brauche das Stricken täglich
und wenn es nur 10 Reihen sind, ohne das Stricken bin ich nur ein halber Mensch.
Situationen?
In langen Warteschlangen (beim Arzt, letztes Jahr beim Arbeitsamt) hilft mir das Stricken sehr, da ich eigentlich kein sehr geduldiger Mensch bin. Beim Stricken kann ich zur Ruhe kommen!
Übrigens merken das bei mir auch andere Leute, so z. B. eine Freundin von mir, die einmal sagte:
"Wenn du strickst, bist du irgendwie anders...ruhiger und ausgeglichener!
Und du siehst dabei verdammt glücklich aus!"
Na, das ist doch wirklich ein Grund niemals mit dem Stricken aufzuhören, oder?

This is what my 8-year old daugther Elena (Elly for short) drew for me yesterday. I am so honoured and so proud of her....(Proud Mom says: "that's my girl"...lol)
I love the way she signed the picture....looks so professional.

Proud Mom speaking...
Although I don't really like all the madness about Mother's Day,
I really had a nice and pleasant one today!
In my Opinion you should honour your Mum every day of the year, think of her, love her, appreciate her and on top of that: Tell her that you do!!! Every day, every week, every month, every year!
But since the kids enjoy, telling their Mummy (that's me..speaks Proud Mom), how much they love her and like to give some handmade gifts on this day, I do endure the madness....... and ....okay, I have to admit I do enjoy and love it...*giggles*
I have had a gorgeous day! First off I woke up at about 7.30 am to hear rustles and giggles in the kitchen....oh, well, Mother's Day!...i thought and went back to sleep, well aware that I would need all my strength for the cleaning up, that would come later on!
At 8.30 am the kids stood quietly giggling before my bed with fresh coffee (yummy!) and toast with orange-marmalade...woohoo!..what a nice start into the day!!
And surprise surprise, the kitchen was cleaned up..........NO MESS!......i was gabberflasted!
So I had my coffee and the toast and got up, did the things you do in the morning and was told to sit down and get my knitting out.....
.......What?????.....are they kiddin?....have they gone out of their minds???....
Then they came up with some poems and presents (pictures tomorrow, got to get new batteries for the digicam), how sweet!
(I have to admit, I had some good use of kleenex today...but don't tell anyone! Pwease!)
At 11.30 am Donna and Elena (my two "big girls") told me to knit along no matter what happens:"Relax and knit your sox, Mum, we will be doing something in the kitchen! And please: STAY OUT!"
Okay, I am a very very obedient Mum and did my thing, while carefully listening to pots and pans being tortured in the kitchen.
Finally, at 1 pm we had dinner! Yes you are reading right: The kids cooked dinner!!!!
And they really did a good job! We had seasoned rice with a turkey-dish (that's turkeybreast with tomatoes and mushrooms, nicely seasoned with "whatsoever"). It was delicious!
(Really, this is not "Proud Mom" speaking now, it really was fabulous!)
I will have to say thanks to Donna's teacher (They offered a cooking-course in school and she learned to do that dish in that course!).
After that? The kitchen? A mess!!! The table? A mess!! My hair? A mess!!!....*lol*
But the kids offered to clean the kitchen and the table, they even cleaned their rooms....
We had desert, a nice caramel-pudding, and off they went to play! Quietly!!! And me?
I was left to knit, knit, knit, knit...
It was a great day!
THANKS KIDS!!! I love you so much!

But since the kids enjoy, telling their Mummy (that's me..speaks Proud Mom), how much they love her and like to give some handmade gifts on this day, I do endure the madness....... and ....okay, I have to admit I do enjoy and love it...*giggles*
I have had a gorgeous day! First off I woke up at about 7.30 am to hear rustles and giggles in the kitchen....oh, well, Mother's Day!...i thought and went back to sleep, well aware that I would need all my strength for the cleaning up, that would come later on!
At 8.30 am the kids stood quietly giggling before my bed with fresh coffee (yummy!) and toast with orange-marmalade...woohoo!..what a nice start into the day!!
And surprise surprise, the kitchen was cleaned up..........NO MESS!......i was gabberflasted!
So I had my coffee and the toast and got up, did the things you do in the morning and was told to sit down and get my knitting out.....
.......What?????.....are they kiddin?....have they gone out of their minds???....
Then they came up with some poems and presents (pictures tomorrow, got to get new batteries for the digicam), how sweet!
(I have to admit, I had some good use of kleenex today...but don't tell anyone! Pwease!)
At 11.30 am Donna and Elena (my two "big girls") told me to knit along no matter what happens:"Relax and knit your sox, Mum, we will be doing something in the kitchen! And please: STAY OUT!"
Okay, I am a very very obedient Mum and did my thing, while carefully listening to pots and pans being tortured in the kitchen.
Finally, at 1 pm we had dinner! Yes you are reading right: The kids cooked dinner!!!!
And they really did a good job! We had seasoned rice with a turkey-dish (that's turkeybreast with tomatoes and mushrooms, nicely seasoned with "whatsoever"). It was delicious!
(Really, this is not "Proud Mom" speaking now, it really was fabulous!)
I will have to say thanks to Donna's teacher (They offered a cooking-course in school and she learned to do that dish in that course!).
After that? The kitchen? A mess!!! The table? A mess!! My hair? A mess!!!....*lol*
But the kids offered to clean the kitchen and the table, they even cleaned their rooms....
We had desert, a nice caramel-pudding, and off they went to play! Quietly!!! And me?
I was left to knit, knit, knit, knit...
It was a great day!
THANKS KIDS!!! I love you so much!
And then there is only one question left:
Can't Mother's Day be more often????

Was passiert, wenn...
....Frau (sprich: Ich) das Wort selbstgekochte Marmelade hört oder liest?
Ich sag Euch, dann kommt das Leben in die Gänge und was Supertolles passiert.
Also von vorne:
Annette hat in ihrem Blog geschrieben, daß sie Marmelade gekocht hat.
Ich lieeeeebe selbstgekochte Marmelade!!!!!!
Also, flugs in die Tasten gegriffen und einen Kommentar geschrieben.
(Tausche selbstgestrickte Mustersocken gegen Marmelade...nachzulesen hier)
Nun ja, ich dachte nichts weiter, plötzlich habe ich eine Email im Kasten: "Na gerne doch"
Cool dachte ich mir und fing schon an mir Gedanken um das "Wie, wann, warum und was" zu machen.
Nach vielen lieben Emails hin und her, findet der Tausch nun statt. Ich freue mich wie Bolle und habe das Gefühl eine neue Freundin gefunden zu haben.
Nun muss ich aber wieder weiter, die Marmelade-gegen-Mustersocken-Socken wollen ja auch noch vollendet werden.

I have certainly missed alot this week with the exams on my mind....just to find out today, that the questionaire was given out for this.
Oh well, here we go then..

What fibers do you absolutely *not* like?
pure wool, mohair, merino
I don't like acrylics (pure acrylics that is), they are alright as in Sockwool
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in?
A little plastik drawer
I would like to get myself one of those nifty needlecases for my dpns (the ones you can roll, some make them theirselves), they are wonderful
3. How long have you been knitting? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced?
I have been knitting for 25 years now.
at laceknitting I would consider myself an advanced knitter
Sockknitting: advanced
knitting sweaters: intermediate
Fair isle knitting: never tried, so it is none of the three...lol
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list?
Yes, here: (I'll add that later)
5. What's your favorite scent? (for candles, bath products etc.)
Lilac-Scent!!! (got lilacs in my wee little garden...they smell lovely!)
Lavender and Rose, Vanilla sometimes

I don't spin as of yet (on my to learn list....sometime). I crochet, knit and do some origami with my kids (they are better at it than me... :-( ......)

Yes the computer/stereo plays MP3s!
Favorite music: Almost everything except Rap.
I like the music of Brian Adams, Robbie Williams (yummy!) and Phil Collins and have to admit I
can really chill out on all those "BoyBand"-Music.....lol
I absolutely love "The Corrs" and Irish Music !
And classical music, when I need to recover from a hard day.
9. What's your favorite color? Or--do you have a color family/season/palette you prefer? Any colors you just can't stand?
My alltime favorite colour is Magenta and all that are in that colour family (lilac, violet, pink, hot pink...etc.)
But I also love blues and greens and orange/yellow (like sunflowers!).
I love beige and the natural colour of sheep-wool. Black is fabulous too.
I absolutely HATE brown and grey! (they are soooo dull)

I am a singlemom, got 3 beautiful and very helpful girls, which are 10, 8 and 6 years old
We got a budgie named Hansi. He is about 12 years old (or even more) and a cute little guy.

Scarves=yes in winter ;-)
Hats= NO (big no=>I hate them...)
Mittens=yes
Ponchos=Never tried actually, but I think they are pretty cool

Hooray!...Hurrah!...
...die Prüfungen sind vorbei und ich fühle mich wieder frei!
Die MS-Office Prüfung wurde schon angeschaut und kontrolliert und benotet.
Zeit um Anzugeben: Ich habe 97,69 Prozent!
So, das ist dann eine klare Note "1"!
Ich bin sooooooo glücklich!
....the exams are finished and I am feeling free again!
The MS-Office Exam has already been looked at and checked and marked.
Time to boast: I got 97,69 percentage.
So that is a clear "A" grade!
I am soooooooo happy!

Heute...
Heute lief es recht gut =>MSOffice-Prüfung (Access, Excel, Word, Serienbrief, Rechnungen erstellen und mit Formeln bestücken, Datenbanken entwerfen und erstellen, Formulare, Abfragen.....etc), hinterher war es als ob man eine Tonnenlast von mir abgenommen hätte.
Morgen kommt noch der zweite Teil:Theorie und webdesign.
Und dann kann ich fliegen...
Besonderer Dank gilt Dipsy und Annette aka Wollsocke, die immer wieder bei mir hier reinschauen und liebe Kommentare hinterlassen.
Ich bin so froh über Kommentare und so, das tut mir so gut!
Heute haben die beiden ganz feste die Daumen gedrückt und gute Gedanken geschickt.
Ihr seid Schätze! DANKE!
Auch allen anderen, die heute an mich gedacht haben, schicke ich ein herzliches: Vergelt's Gott!
